Get microclimate data in batches and quickly

Postby Virgil » Fri Dec 06, 2019 5:46 am

Hello :D ENVI-met technical staff:
I need to simulate 50 case models. Each model needs to obtain the relative humidity value of the air around the building in 0-24 hours per hour. Is there any batch operation method for ENVI-met to quickly obtain the microclimate data around the building?

Thank you for your help.

Hi Virgil,

No, unfortunately there is no fast version yet. This is why we added the BPS outputs to ENVI-met. Relative humidity values are not included there yet but are in development.
In the meantime, you could try it with NetCDF outputs: There are lots of libraries e.g. for R that allow you to import the data quickly and give you the needed data of certain cells by a quickly written script.

Best regards,
Tim

Hi, :D Tim
I have some problems writing NetCDF output files according to your suggestion. I used the same model simulation. When I selected the second option (A NetCDF file is created for every output interval), the simulation ran smoothly, and when I selected the first option (Data of every output interval is stored in one single NetCDF file), an error occurred when checking the model. In fact, I prefer to store all the data in one NetCDF file. My computer also has Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package installed, so I don't know what caused this error?

Best regards,
Virgil

Hi Virgil,

Does it run without checking before?

Hi :D Tim,
This error appeared when I checked. I don't know why the prompt didn't tell me the cause of the error.

Hi Virgil,

I think that it works if you just run without checking.

Hi Virgil,

I confirm that the error only appeared if you tried to check the simulation with writing NetCDF in one single file. Running the simulation worked fine.
However, we fixed this issue with the simulation check and uploaded the latest version. You may download it from our homepage.

Hi, :D Tim
I tried running without checking, as you said, it can be simulated normally. Thank you very much for your reply.

Best regards
Virgil
