Dear ENVI-met team,
I am trying to use the full forcing mode by editing my own CSV file. From the forcingmanager guidance, 9 parameters shall be used to create the CSV file. I want to know if some of the paramters are left blank, for example, if I leave it blank for the long wave radiation, will the simulation still goes well?
Thanks,
Lance
Full forcing mode when leaving some parameters blank
Re: Full forcing mode when leaving some parameters blank
Hi Lance,
I'd not recommend the longwave radiation to be left blank since this energy source is needed for the simulation. You may set a constant value of around 300-350 for all timesteps if you are not sure about it.
For other parameters you do not want to force (e.g. wind speed), you may leave the columns blank or insert a default value.
Best regards,
Tim

Re: Full forcing mode when leaving some parameters blank
Dear Tim,
for the simulation I'm working on I don't have any data regarding SW/LW radiations or cloud cover
Therefore, I put in the csv. file a random value of "1", for example:
17.02.2018,00:00:00,1,1,1,280.50,66.90,1.20,78.00
At the same time, when generating the forcing file and when setting up the simulation file I selected "do not force radiation clouds", see the files attached.
Do you find it a correct procedure? Does it mean that envimet will rely on default data for the geographical position of my model area?
Thank you very much in advance for your reply,
Best regards

Hi,
Yes, that would be correct.

Tim
