Building windows

Post by abcd »

Hi,

I have a question please:
To simulate a large neighborhood, it would be difficult to draw windows on each building. Can we therefore add the windows as a percentage of glazing or another simpler method.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Yes, you could try to create a new wall where windows and other materials are averaged due to their proportions.

Best regards,

Hi Tim,
Thank you for your response. I tryed to estimate that windows cover an area of 20% of the total facade . But I didn't know how can I do that. In Data & settings -> Database manager -> building walls, we can precise different layers in "cm". In my case, I have one layer "glass" to precise in percentage.
Please advice.

Hi,

Well, that is not possible. You will need to create new materials beforehand where you import the externally averaged values of each physical parameter. The new wall will then consist out of 3 layers of this new averaged material.

Best regards,
