Distance "wall:temperature in front of facade"

Postby verticalgreenteam » Fri Aug 16, 2019 11:42 am

Hello,

When a building has a green wall and we export the results in Leonardo of "Wall: temperature in front of facade", is this the temperature between node 1 and the back of the green wall? Also what is the distance between the wall and the measurement point with parameter "Wall: temperature in front of facade"?

Thank you

Hi,

"Wall: temperature in front of facade" gives you the air temperature within the greening canopy, if greening is used. Otherwise it is the air temperature in front of the facade, i.e. in the mid cell point of the neighbouring atmosphere cell. If greening is used, the calculation point is located in the mid of the greening.

Best regards,
Tim

In Addition, if an air gap is defined it is the air temperature in the gap and if a substrate is used it is the substrate temperature.
In other words: it is the relevant exchange temperature for the facade, what it actually is depends on the construction

Thank you for the clear answer! I used a living wall with substrate and a air gap between wall and substrate. So it would take the air temperature i guess?

Hi,

Yes, in that case it is the air temperature of the gap.

Best regards,
Tim
