Output variables in Leonardo

Postby Haalsaad » Wed Mar 25, 2020 12:58 pm

Dear Tim,

I am simulating facade greening with substrate and air gap between wall and substrate. Would you please explain the meaning and location of the following output variables in Leonardo:

1. Building: Sum Humidity Flux at facade (g/sm3)
2. Wall: Longwave Energy Balance (W/m2)
3. Difference between “Greening: Temperature Leafs (°C)” and “Greening: Air Temperature Canopy (°C)”
4. Greening: Transpiration Flux (g/sm3)
5. Greening: Water access factor ()
6. Substrate: Humidity Flux at substrate (g/s*m3)
7. is “Substrate: Air Temperature in front of substrate (°C)” the same as “Greening: Air Temperature Canopy (°C)”?

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi,

1. Positive or negative flux of humidity (e.g. evaporation/transpiration of plants substrate), balance at the facade.
2. How much longwave energy is received and emitted at the facade. Summed up and given as a total balance.
3. Temperature of the greenery leaves and temperatur of the air between the leaves of the greenery canopy.
4. How much water is transpirated at the greenery.
5. The water access factor between 0 and 1. Defines more or less how much water is accessible for the greenery from substrate.
6. Positive or negative flux of humidity (e.g. evaporation/transpiration of plants substrate), balance at the substrate.
7. No, Air Temperatur in front of substrate seems to be the air temperature of the air gap.

Best regards,
Tim

Thank you very much, now it is all clear to me except Number 7. You mentioned that "Air Temperature in front of substrate seems to be the air temperature of the air gap", and in another post (link below) you mentioned that 'Wall: Air temperature in front of facade' gives the air temperature in the gap (when greening with air gap is used). Does this mean that 'Substrate: Air Temperature in front of substrate' and 'Wall: Air temperature in front of facade' are the same? Thank you very much in advance!

Hi,

Well, that is a bit tricky to follow within the source code. I checked it again now and unfortunately both answers are not correct. The output variable Air Temperature in front of substrate holds the same values as Greening: Air temperature canopy.

Best regards,
Tim
